Memorial Day

I hope that everyone takes the time to be thankful for the contributions of our veterans -- both past and present. With Memorial Day and other related holidays, it is sometimes more about the holiday than about remembering those who have served admirably on our behalf and that of our country. I hope that we all take time in the next few days to thank and honor those who have or are serving our country.

  1. Dr. Miller,
Thank you for this Memorial Day message. This year at the National Cemetery the names of all 148,000 men and women buried there were read. Our family had 5 names read:
My Dad and 2 uncles who served in Vietnam.
My grandfather who served in WWII
My great-uncle who served in WWII and was missing at sea.
In this time of budgets, layoffs and uncertainty it is nice to be reminded to remember what truly matters.

  2. I am also thankful for your Memorial Day message. My father, uncle and brother-in-law are buried there. We visited the National Cemetery before the motorcycles came in. One of the riders was my sister, riding her Harley, in honor of my father....
